Conflict Transformation in the Arts and Beyond

This project supported by the Canada Council for the Arts facilitates collaboration with conflict transformation educators including Urpi Pine, Moyo Rainos Mutamba (Co-Founder of Bloom Consulting and Professor of Social Work), Meenadchi (Author of Decolonizing Nonviolent Communication) with whom we will co-develop conflict transformation models

These models will serve an internal prototyping process (with Greenhouse artists) and a collaborative prototyping process with partners Kapisanan Philippine Center for the Arts, Rooted and Rising, UKAI, and Voice of Purpose who will test the model(s) with artists in their organizations.

The project will culminate into a podcast series to share knowledge on conflict-transformation with our broader community and the public with the intention to foster well-being, resilience, and sustainability outcomes of individuals and organizations in the arts & adjacent sectors by building our resilience through conflict

This project is catalyzed by

(a) the identified e need to build internal and collective capacity-building around conflict transformation to support organizational resilience

(b) the problem of the lack of diverse models for conflict transformation available to arts organization

(c) the need and opportunity to create space for diverse knowledge stewards of conflict resolution models to share knowledge with one another, artists, arts organizations and diverse sectors beyond the arts.
