Summary

EARTHVERSE is a music residency that elevates Racialized, Black and Indigenous musicians, prioritizing prioritizing East End, out-of-Toronto-core, emerging, and queer artists across genres who uplift earth stewardship in the intentions, themes, process, and impact of their musical process and practise.

EARTHVERSE 

(1) Offers a $2500 honorarium for rehearsal, creation, collaboration, and performance

(2) Expands artists’ portfolios through a prpofessionally filmed Tindesk-style performance and podcastt

(3) Facilitates co-creation, collaboration, and experimentation with preselected resident Kikeyah

(4) Offers mentorship with industry professionals Cheldon Paterson (SlowPitchSound), Shanika Maria, and apè Aliermo 

(5) Culminates into a final public showcase and community jam (August 28th 2026) at the Birchcliff United Church

Assessment Criteria

Open call out applications will be assessed by a jury of artists, earth stewards, and community organizers in a scoring process that considers 

(a) History showing dedication to work exploring theme and practise of earth stewardship (20%)
(c) Support material that demonstrates Earthverse’s thematic focus and creative commitment (20%) 
(b) Impact of residency for artist (20%) 
(d) Relationship to collaboration, experimentation history + dedication to live performance (20%) 
(e) Geography (East End & out-of-core priority) (10%)
