Due Thursday April 4th
COSMOVERSE is a one-month music residency and Tinydesk-style performance series that elevates the work of BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, People of Colour) emerging and established musicians (priority to East End, Scarborough and out-of-downtown artists)
Residents are supported with a $2800 honorarium to create new work, explore collaborative processes with other residents, and develop their professional portfolio through professional documentation of their work and process. We are calling in one resident artist to join our cohort of pre-selected artists Shanika Maria and Shqdel.
WHEN & WHERE
OPTION 1 - April 1-April 30
OPTION 2 - April 15-May 15
During the designated residency period, artists will be hosted at Greenhouse Theatre (North Scarborough) to engage in a period of creation, preparation, and experimentation for a professionally filmed solo and collective musical set and podcast interview at Greenhouse Theatre. The Greenhouse space will be reserved for artist for research, rehearsal and creation time over pre-established days.
DOCUMENTATION
Greenhouse Theatre will record a professionally filmed live musical set and podcast-style interview for resident artists at the end of their residency. A camera will be set up in the space to sustain a video diary during the residency. With the artist’s consent, we will use selected diary footage in the final video that highlights their residency process.
