UMAWIT is a musically-driven ritual theatre production singing us through the question - how do we listen to our heartsongs, the waters, and the fires desiring completion at the end of the world?
Around an altar, we are invited to commune with the ancestors, the land, one another, and the songs of Sarili, one of the last songkeepers in the era of great sound distortion caused by the carbon density in the atmosphere.
Production Team Bennette Baguisa, Shaunga Tagore (Directorial Mentor), Sruthi Suresan (Light Design), Cheldon Paterson (Sound Design), Dhiviya Prabaharan (Set Design)
Visual Artist Mara Herrera
