Each generation, we collectively are encouraged by life to evolve. To expand beyond our limitations placed upon us by society, family or some other invisible or visible pressure, to conform.
Deep inside of us, there exists a passionate fire to be more honest and true to ourselves. It is this call to rise within, to grow, that our ancestors rooted into, to create, innovate, change and alchemize the circumstances that they found themselves in.
In this two hour participatory class, we will engage in a process utilizing storytelling techniques such as movement, voice and stillness to express and anchor more deeply the truths that desire to be integrated.
The first hour will be an exploration of our ancestral wisdom and the second half of the class will be merging that wisdom with intentionally creating an embodied prayer to anchor in the ways we truly desire to show up in the world.
No prior experience of dance or storytelling is necessary.
SHARRAE LYON BIO
Sharrae Lyon is a wombxn of African, Taino, and European descent by way of Xamayca/Yemaye.
She is a mover, filmmaker, writer and healer in remembering. Her ancestral lineage is a nexus of various lands and peoples, which has cultivated within me as an Afro-Caribbean wombxn a lens of deep ancestral reconciliation processes.
Her medicine is within the realms of energy healing, artistic creation, supporting authentic embodiment, and galactic wisdoms including Light Language.
